How retreats help you reconnect
If you’re anything like me, then you probably think having time to yourself is wrong or maybe even selfish. As a Christian, mom and counselor, I know it’s of utmost importance to be there for others – but that doesn’t mean we have to neglect ourselves in the process.
Even Jesus took time to be alone and spend intentional time with God.
“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he [Jesus] departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.” Mark 1:35
Yes – even Jesus, who was (and is) in a perfect relationship with God, took time in His earthly life to be alone with God.
So, it would stand to reason that this is even more important for us as followers of Jesus Christ to spend intentional time alone with God. It’s vital for us to regularly pause from everyday life and reevaluate our schedules, priorities and goals.
One of the biggest worries many Christian women have when attending Christian women’s events, conferences, etc. is having to listen to the same teachings and the same topics over and over again. While certain topics are popular and repeated for good reason, you’ll be relieved to know attending a Graceful Balance Collective retreat ensures getting a deeper, more introspective teaching.
You’ll learn about and discuss topics such as understanding your identity, creating healthy rhythms, how to practice Christian yoga and more!
When it comes to identity, God has the same greater purpose for all of us – to glorify Him – but it sometimes gets hazy or confusing when we look at how that pertains to our specific purposes and daily lives.
At a retreat, you’ll have time to reflect on these things through teaching sessions, small groups, and solo reflection time. It’s helpful to have both the time to reflect alone and to hear the input and perspectives of other Godly women.
A retreat also allows you a break from your everyday routine. You won’t lift a finger while you’re at a GBC retreat – everything (food, amenities, and more) is taken care of for you. You won’t need to fill your schedule as you normally might. You can take time to relax and rest without feeling anxious about it. How often can we all say that?
If you’re seeking community with like-minded Christian women, teachings on how to better hone God’s calling on your life, some instructed faith-centered yoga and other movements, and a lot of downtime for rest and relaxation, then this is the perfect place for you.
If this sounds like something you or someone you know needs, we’d love for you to join us at an upcoming retreat! Learn more here:
